Tips for Memorizing Praise and Worship Scriptures
Memorizing the Holy Bible is Meditating on God’s word according to Psalm 1:1-2, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”
Happy are the people who think about the law of the Lord!
Are you one of those? I truly hope so. The Holy Scriptures are here to enlighten your mind to the reality of a Holy God. Praise and Worship is a tool used by the Followers of Jesus Christ each day. Each individual will practice memorizing words, psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to help us to make a melody in our hearts to the Lord.
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
Ephesian 5:19 KJV
You are to give your best to the Lord through your actions of focusing on God, Jesus, and being obedient to His commands. Meditation is the consideration of the following scripture from Philippians 4:8:
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
Refuse evil advice, don’t follow sinners,
Psalm 1:2 KJV
or join in sneering at God.
There are many techniques out there in this world, but keep in mind that they are from their father, the devil. We are NOT to follow the ways of sinners or sit with those who mock or sin against God. Our minds must be pure and holy. If you didn’t no that, let’s read 1 Peter 1:16, “Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
We were created in God’s image and likeness to communicate with Him – spirit to spirit (John 4:23-24). After becoming Jesus’ disciples, it is your reasonable service to God. It is a privilege and honor to pay tribute. If you don’t have anything to say to the Lord, you need to meditate more. Memorization will help you to praise and worship God more.
Practice Praising God daily (see Exercising Worship for more help).
If you thank God with an everlasting love, continuously give Him your undivided attention through your prayers, thanksgiving, and praise. All of God’s children communicate respectably.
