Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them. – Deuteronomy 11:16

Anyone who thinks that God doesn’t know your heart, you are sadly mistaken according to Malachi chapter 1. We are the temple of God, so we have forgotten who we are. It is a reminder of our hearts in this day and age. How can we tell the measure of our hearts? Matthew 12:35 tells us, “A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.”

Your heart directs your attitude of worship. It is your responsibility to know the difference between right and wrong. Is your attitude in your worship correct? Will God accept your worship? Mature worshippers of God walk upright before Him always. Their attitude will have honor and respect with obedience and submission towards God. If you want to worship correctly, please understand Hebrews 4:12, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” You can not try to hide anything from God.

Do not deceive yourself into thinking you can worship God incorrectly and get away with it. There are many so-called Christians who take the grace and mercy of God for granted, and they need to stop! Worship is not a joking matter, like being an amusing Minstrel. It must be taken seriously. Having a disrespectful attitude toward worship is a No-No! Stop putting on your “Face.” Clowning around to entertain others watching you worship God. Your actions are just hysteria. God knows your intent before you begin in your worship actions. I hope you know that God cannot be mocked (Galatians 6:7). Remember what you sow in this life, it will be returned to you again. You will reap what you have sowed – right or wrong actions. Everybody worships, but not everyone worships God with a fitting heart. Just because you go to church or your assembly does mean that God knows you. Salvation through Jesus Christ is the only connection to God. If you haven’t done that, stop wasting your time. Worshipping God is for those who love Him with the whole being – body, mind, and spirit. God seeks those types of people (John 4:23-24). When you are invited to worship with God, you will know how to honor the Lord. Praising, Dancing, and Saying Repetitive Prayers are worshipping actions, however, you are just easing your conscious when they are done. You are vainly worshipping if you’re not giving what God wants. According to Matthew 15:8, this is what God thinks of those who praise Him without a holy heart of worship, “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.” God is omniscient. He knows what you need before you open up your mouth. I’m so glad that there are many who will worship God in spirit and truth. He loves to commune with these people because their hearts are in their worship.

We can worship God with praise by opening up our mouths, but we need to reexamine our attitude as well. Honestly and respectfully worship God in all areas of our being. He deserves it, don’t you think?
