Worship His Majesty: How Praising the King Will Change Your Life by Jack Hayford
“Psalm 115:4-8 is one of the most insightful passages on the subject of worship found anywhere in the Bible:
4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.
5 They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:
6 They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:
7 They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.
8 They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.
In this passage, the psalmist describes idolatry and the inadequacy of the false gods worshiped by the heathen. Then he makes a very important observation: Those who make idols are like them, and so is everyone who trusts in them. In other words, you shall become like the god your worship.
Let me say that again because this point cannot be overemphasized: You become like the god you worship.
The act of worship means you are developing a set of values; you are determining what you desire most.”
Worship is a part of your nature. You were born that way by God. Recognize Him because He will love to have a reciprocal relationship with you.
Whatever or Whoever you value gets your time and money. Why not God? For those who are on the fence about their decision to worship God acceptably, today is the day of salvation.
In Christ, you know that worship rightfully belongs to God alone. You have only two choices: Serving God or Satan. Choose Life in Christ and Live.
What god will you serve? Whomever you value or get all of your attention to, you become like that god.
