“Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation (Psalm 24:3-5).” This is a picture of acceptable worship for those who daily seek Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). They are true acceptable worshippers, who are righteous, have a clear conscious and have been made holy through their faith.
What is acceptable worship? Anybody who honor and respect God in their worship of Him, according to John 4:23, “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.” Can you see the emphasize phrase “true worshippers?” That term describes Followers of Jesus Christ, a Believer, a Saint, or a child of God. Anyone of them identifies our position in the Family of Heaven. All who die in Christ Jesus go to Heaven to be with the Heavenly Father, worships there acceptably with love and adoration. This is the reason for our salvation. Confidently say, when we take our last breath on earth, we take our next breath in the presence of God, according to Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 5:8, “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord,” but for now, we continue to work out our soul salvation. Jesus redeemed us to worship the Father God acceptably – the whole reason for salvation. He didn’t pay the blood sacrifice to give us fire insurance from Hell. God sent Jesus to position us, by His mercy and grace, to worship God. Remember John tells us, “for the Father seeketh such to worship him.” In other words, the Heavenly Father is looking at us each day in our worship.
Salvation is synonymous with worshipping God. The Holy Bible supports this fact by sharing with us that people who see the truth of the only Messiah sent to save – Jesus Christ, they have an immediate response of worship – true acceptable praise, reverence, or respect to God himself. After becoming a Believer, it is our responsibility to help others to the call of worship. Believing that God is worthy of acceptable worship, to not worship God as fully as he or she ought. Do you know that Hebrews 12:28 tells us to serve acceptably as Believer, “Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear?” Here is another example of spiritual worship from Romans 12:1, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
Since we become true acceptable worshippers of God and then let us respond by worshipping Him acceptably with true spiritual service. God has made us worship in the knowledge of the truth. Make a conscious decision, aware of the truth, to do God’s commandments – reasonable service. Do you remember some of the lesson 10? Romans 1:21 states, “When they know God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful.” If you are unacceptably worshipping God, you can never be truly thankful. True Worshippers express God’s commands in daily sacrifice, according to Hebrews 13:15-16, “By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”
