Naked and Unashamed
A phrase that is expressed from Genesis 2:25 which said, “And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.” Something happened during the conversation Adam and Eve had with the serpent in chapter three. Let’s read verse 7, “And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.”
What happens? The husband and wife were naked and unashamed. After their encounter with the serpent, their eyes were clear to see that they were nude. They received unfruitful knowledge or dead works. Both offer unacceptable worship towards God by lying and justifying their offense and wrongdoing.
Since they did not reject the unfruitful knowledge and follow dead works of eating the wrong kind of nutrition. Sin embraced the world in every way through the desires of the eyes. Remember, they are the window to the soul. This fable of the eyes has some truth to it. Proverbs 15:11 states, “Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?” In order words, If the Lord can see everything in the world of the dead, He can see in our hearts (mind).
I want to make this expression clear, “in our hearts, or from my heart” is the depths perception of the mind. It is your visual field from your imagination, where desires, wants, and needs are found. The heart is the source of actions.
THE NAKED EYE
The meaning of “naked eye” is anything that can be seen naturally without the assistant from microscope or telescope. Do you know that this phrase wasn’t used until the 1660’s? This observation is to find something near or far. What does the bible suggest? Let’s read Matthew 26:41, “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
“”For the corruptible body presseth down the soul, and the earthy tabernacle weigheth down the mind that museth upon many things” (Wisdom 9:15 from the Apocrypha). Our Lord at this very time was experiencing and exemplifying the truth of his saying, though in his ease the weakness of the flesh was entirely overmastered by the willing spirit.
Naked means to expose, lay bare, nude, stripped, or unclad.
In the Bible use: applied to pure, open to view, unconcealed, or customary covering.
From Genesis to Revelation, sin has kept us ashamed and naked before God. This is why Jesus has spoken in parables! Let’s read what the disciple asked about parables in Matthew 13:
10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
Do you know that the children of Israel stood naked unto their shame? Let’s read about it in Exodus 32::25, “And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:). It is the same today. People become out of control making themselves a target, just like God stated in Genesis 4:7, “If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.”
He (sin) will continue until you take control of it. If not, Job 26:6 states, “Hell is naked before Him (God), and destruction hath no covering.” There’s nothing that is hidden from God. For every person who willfully sins, their end is ruin and uncovered. Please see in the spirit. God is helping us with the answer according to the wisdom found in Proverbs 27:20, “Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.”
You must believe that! Now take control of the desires of your heart (mind). Many express this, however, it is how you see things on this earth – people, places, and things – your environment and atmosphere.
Let’s read a few bible verses that express the heart desires:
If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:
Iniquity means wickness, evil immorality. Can you see that you are naked? The Lord God will not hear a person who practice sin.
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
You have to take control of your mind by learning and hearing the Word of God. If not, sin will help you out. Remember Genesis 4:7 from above.
Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;
You are to put on the new self-created in Christ Jesus, and not to doubt minded letting your eyes, plays a double part, acting in one way when observed, in another when left to yourself. You must understand that you cannot serve two masters (Matthew 6:24).
2 Peter 2:14
Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
This action is deep in the recesses of your mind. What are you to do? I have said this before, so I will say it again, ” Every person who willfully sins, their end is ruin and uncovered.” If you don’t take control of yourself, even your children are cursed because of your practice.
Everyone has a chance to redeem themselves by renewing their mind (Ephesians 4:23; Romans 12:2). There is NO place in this physical reality that the Lord God cannot find. He is the only source of our existence. Please don’t kid yourself. Self-deception has no truth, but the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 1:7).
Take hold of this truth – it will take some time to adjust to the new reality to stop practicing sinning and begin to act wisely and prevent harm to yourself and others. Walk in righteousness, and never be ashamed of your actions again.
